Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield to Manage

Pharmacy Benefits for New Companies in 2008

Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) has notified APA that there are several new companies who will be using Arkansas BCBS to adjudicate and manage their pharmacy benefits beginning January 1, 2008.  The claims will be processed using Arkansas BCBS’ current claims processor, Pharmacare/Caremark.  The companies are:

·        City of Bentonville, City of Fayetteville PPO, City of Fayetteville HSA,  Fayetteville Library PPO,  Fayetteville Library HSA,  Baxter County,  City of Mountain Home, Pipelife, Latco Inc, Harris Baking, HSNP Com LLC, Albert Culver, Experian, Ridout Lumber, Yarnell Ice Cream Company, J.A. Riggs Tractor, American Management, Southern Aluminum, Bank of the Ozarks, Deltic Timber, Evergreen, Petit Jean Poultry, Radiology Associates, Danfoss (Scroll Tech), Arkansas Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool “CHIP”

In addition to managing the pharmacy benefits for these companies, Arkansas BCBS will also move a select number of medications from Tier 2 to Tier 3 on the Arkansas BCBS formulary beginning January 1, 2008.  These drugs include:

·         Alphagan P, Cenestin, Enablex, Estraderm, Lithium Carbonate, Lithobid, Rythmol SR, Tazorac, Testim, Tilade, Triglide, Uniphyl, Vistaril, Vospire ER
