The Arkansas Pharmacists Association (APA) was founded in 1882 as the professional association for the profession of pharmacy in Arkansas. The APA represents over 2,000 members consisting of pharmacists, pharmacy students and members of the industry who support the objectives of the Association. In addition to the general APA membership, the organization has three academies that are focused on specific practice areas: Health-Systems Academy (AAHP), Compounding Academy, and the Consultant Academy.
APA is divided into geographically-based Districts (8) and Areas (4). Each District has a President and each Area has a Representative. These membership-elected District Presidents and Area Representatives serve on the APA Board of Directors and help ensure representation from pracitioners across Arkansas.
